UPDATE: Hand Grenade Removed from Bangor Street

Officials say traffic is now flowing and businesses are open again in the area of Davis and Main Streets, where public works crews this morning found what appears to be a hand grenade.

Bangor police say an apparent hand grenade found on a city street has been removed and placed in a containment vessel.

Officials say traffic is now flowing in the area of Davis and Main Streets, and all businesses are open.

Bangor Public Works crews found the device at about 10:30 this morning and called in the department's Bomb Team.

Authorities say the grenade will be "disposed of safely in the very near future" by the Bomb Team. No injuries were reported in the incident.
