Body Recovered after Crash on Eastern Maine Lake

The Maine Warden Service says the body of 65-year-old Vincent J. Bartolomeo was recovered from West Grand Lake near the town of Grand Lake Stream on Thursday.

GRAND LAKE STREAM, Maine (AP) _ Game wardens have recovered the body of a missing boater from an eastern Maine lake after a crash.

The Maine Warden Service says the body of 65-year-old Vincent J. Bartolomeo was recovered from West Grand Lake near the town of Grand Lake Stream on Thursday.

The Warden Service says two boats were involved in the crash the lake on Wednesday afternoon.

Bartolomeo, who was operating a 14-foot open boat, was thrown from the vessel.

Two men on board a 16-foot Lund were safe.

Officials say Bartolomeo, who has residences in Old Orchard Beach and Concord, Mass., was not wearing a life jacket.
