Tasered Twice, Fugitive Still on the Lam
11/11/2009 12:43 PM ET

David Sanborn, wanted on burglary, theft and drug charges, has eluded capture despite being tasered twice, and hunted by police, several dogs and an airplane.

He was caught and tasered twice, but a shoeless David Sanborn has so far managed to elude police, seven dogs and a state police airplane.

Sanborn, who is wanted on burglary, theft and drug charges, was caught several days ago by Biddeford police, but as they tried to arrest him, he escaped, according to the Portland Press Herald.

On Monday, a special task force called in to help track Sanborn down found him in a Buxton apartment, but he ran out a rear door and slipped away, despite being tasered, according to the paper. A farmer on Route 22 found a barefoot Sanborn sleeping in his barn yesterday morning and gave him a ride to a variety store at the intersection of Routes 202 and 22, then called authorities.

A Buxton officer found Sanborn at the variety store, but Sanborn fought him off and despite being tasered again, he got away. Several hours of searching yielded no sign of the fugitive.

Sanborn is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 180 pounds with scruffy facial hair.
