Maine Wildlife Park Visits Increase
11/20/2009 11:42 AM ET

State officials say visits to the park in Gray increased 9 percent this year, compared with last year.

More than 100,000 people visited the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray this year, a jump of nine percent over the previous year. That's according to state officials, who say the park, operated by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, also saw a revenue increase of 24 percent.

The park provides education and information about Maine's native wildlife. The park's biggest draw are its resident moose, officials say.

About 45 percent of summer visitors to the park were from out of state, officials say, and five percent came from countries all over the world.
