Kourtney Thibeault, 17, was found trapped in her car at the bottom of a steep ravine off Route 196.

A Topsham teenager who went missing Tuesday night has been found alive, according to the Portland Press Herald. Authorities say Kourtney Thibeault, 17, was found late last night trapped in her car at the bottom of a ravine.

Thibeault had been missing since she left Tuesday to drive to a class in Auburn. Police were searching Route 196 yesterday between Auburn and Topsham when Topsham Officer Troy Garrison spotted damage to a tree near Roberts Hill Road, the paper reports. Tire marks in the grass led toward a steep ravine, and officer's found Thibeault's Ford Explorer 40 feet down.

Thibeault was trapped inside, but she was alert and speaking. She appeared to have injuries to her legs. Thibeault was extricated from the car and taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to the paper.
