Three more people have been arrested on arson charges in Maine, bringing the total number of such charges in the state this week to seven.
The state Fire Marshal's Office says Douglas J. Deloge, 39, of Medway was arrested this afternoon in connection with a fire that destroyed a vacant house in the town early yesterday morning. Three other arson fires in Medway in recent weeks are still under investigation. Deloge is being taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, authorities say.
In addition, an Augusta man has been charged with two counts of arson and two counts of conspiracy to commit arson in connection with firest that damaged his home on Murray Street in Augsuta in January of last year, and a fire that destroyed his car in Balgrade in September of 2005.
The third arrest was of another Augusta man, Jack D. Vogel, 53. Vogel was indicted in connection with a fire at his Middle Street home in August. Vogel was arrested by Augusta police last night.
