Carbon fiber bicycles are now popular among serious cyclists like Lance Armstrong, who rode them to six Tour de France victories. Carbon fiber frames are durable and light-weight, and have a history in Maine. In fact, the first carbon fiber bicycle was built 20 years ago by a small company in Van Buren.
