Colby College Honors Newspaper Reporter Who Covers Mexican Drug Wars

Alfredo Corchado of the Dallas Morning News is the latest recipient of Colby College's Lovejoy award. The award was named for Elijah Parish Lovejoy, a Maine native and Colby grad who was killed while defending his printing press from a pro-slavery mob. Corchado was honored for his courage in an similarly dangerous reporting environment: Mexico's drug wars.
