Maine Poet Reflects on Journey to Obama Inaugural
12/16/2013   Reported By: Jennifer Rooks

Maine poet Richard Blanco's life changed when he was invited to write and deliver a poem at the last inauguration of President Barack Obama. Blanco, who lives in Bethel, was the youngest inaugural poet in history, and was also the first immigrant - and openly gay - poet to have the honor. He has chronicled the experience in a new memoir, titled "For All of Us, One Today: An Inaugural Poet's Journey," which he discussed recently with Jennifer Rooks.
