Authorities say they are still looking for the remaining 12 vases reported stolen from the Brooklawn Memorial Cemetery on Congress Street last week.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ Maine police have recovered 48 bronze memorial vases that were stolen from a cemetery in Portland and identified a suspect in the theft.

Portland Police said Friday that they are still looking for the remaining 12 vases.

The vases were reported stolen from the Brooklawn Memorial Cemetery on Congress Street last week.

Police say they received a tip about the stolen vases from a Sanford man who purchases scrap metal.

Police then identified a suspect who is incarcerated at the York County Jail on unrelated charges.

Authorities say the recovered vases are worth an estimated total of $10,000.
