PBS NewsHour

On Tuesday, January 24th at 9:00 pm, President Barack Obama will deliver the State of the Union address.

MPBN Radio, TV and mpbn.net will feature the address live, in its entirety with coverage on radio from NPR News and the PBS NewsHour on TV as well as mpbn.net.

The coverage will anticipate the overall strategy of the Obama administration in its final year on his administration's first term in office, with an eye to the policies the White House will prioritize (job creation, economic growth, export promotion, and education) and the very different agenda being pursued by the Republican opposition. Also, the coverage will focus on the approach the White House will take to seeking cooperation from Congress when the Republicans control the House and largely share the power in the closely-divided Senate. The coverage will ask how the struggle to deal with immediate problems is affected by the looming 2012 election.
