Secretary of State Charlie Summers convened the hour-long Electoral College ceremony Monday in the Maine House of Representatives Chamber. 

The electors will meet this afternoon in the Maine House of Representatives Chamber to formally cast their ballots in the presidential election.

Campaign finance reports filed last week indicate that more than half of that total was spent by outside groups.

The request stems from a Nov. 13 statement by outgoing Maine Republican Chair Charlie Webster that he planned to mail hundreds of post cards to non-residents he suspects voted to see if they're returned.

Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers says the recount results indicate that Catherine Nadeau, of Winslow, beat Republican Susan Morissette, also of Winslow, by 52 votes.

Recounts in close races in Maine House Districts 45 and 137 have upheld the wins of the two Democratic candidates.

In a statement Thursday afternoon, Webster said he did not mean to talk about race, but about perceived voting irregularities.
