Cain Vows to Focus Campaign on Job Creation, Economy

Democrat Emily Cain will face off against Republican Bruce Poliquin in the race to fill the state's 2nd Congressional District seat currently held by Democrat Mike Michaud, who is running for governor in a three-way race.

Cain Claims Victory 1

Emily Cain addresses supporters at the Holiday Inn in Bangor, after beating her Democratic rival, Troy Jackson, for the party's nomination.

The Democratic nominee in Maine's 2nd District congressional race says she plans to focus her campaign on job creation and economic improvement. Cain beat Allagash logger and state lawmaker Troy Jackson for the party's nomination.

Troy Jackson concedes the 2nd District Race to Emily Cain.

Cain will face off against Bruce Poliquin, a Harvard-educated businessman and former state Treasurer. Poliquin beat out former Maine Senate President Kevin Raye for the Republican nomination.
