Gary Wittner is a versatile guitarist perhaps best known for his explorations of Monk and Cuban music. Lately he's been taking a new direction: singing and performing original tunes in a style which honors Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough and Mose Allison. Tonight Gary will stop by the Bangor studio to perform songs from his upcoming CD, "Did I Say That Out Loud?"

Molly Holm is a singer whose style explores new territory; Richard Lanham sings in the tradition of Joe Williams and many others, but has his own sound. Samples from their recent studio session are featured.

Saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter continues to fearlessly create. Without a Net, which marks his return to the Blue Note label, captures highlights of his quartet's 2011 European tour and also a concert collaboration with The Imani Winds in Los Angeles.

Lucy & the Diamonds, a six-piece combo from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, joined Rich in the studio.

Pianist Nick Merriam brought his trio to the Bangor studio for a live concert.

Tenor saxophonist Bill Barron's unique style is heard in a sampling of recordings his quintet and sextet made for the Savoy label in the early 60's.
