Friday Nights at 9:00 pm
Only On The Radio Stations of MPBN

Jazz and Friday nights have long been synonymous on the radio stations of MPBN, and serving as the anchor for the evening is the Friday Night Jazz with Rich Tozier program.  Music from the legends, the up-and-comers and even the occasional live in-studio performance are all featured for two hours every Friday beginning at 9:00 pm.

Friday Night Jazz with Rich Tozier pays homage to a talent deserving of much wider recognition. Versatile veteran saxophonist Hadley Caliman has a new CD, Straight Ahead, and Rich plays a sampling.

Mildred Bailey & Billie Holiday

Mildred Bailey was a contemporary of Billie Holiday. Sometimes, she’s referred to as the other great singer of her time. Rich offers selections from both accomplished performers in this program.

Pianist Cedar Walton
Friday, February 19 at 9:00 pm

Friday Night Jazz with Rich Tozier features selections from “Hard Bop” pioneer Cedar Wilson. As a pianist he’s recorded dozens of albums. He’s also an accomplished sideman appearing with Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley and Art Blakey, among others.
