Friday Nights at 8:30 pm
Only On The Radio Stations of MPBN

Jazz and Friday nights have long been synonymous on the radio stations of MPBN, and serving as the anchor for the evening is the Friday Night Jazz with Rich Tozier program. Music from the legends, the up-and-comers and even the occasional live in-studio performance are all featured for two hours every Friday beginning at 9:00 pm.

New Big Band Releases

The last several months have yielded a spate of interesting releases by big bands. The focus is on three of them: the Westchester Jazz Orchestra, whose Maiden Voyage Suite was inspired by Herbie Hancock's Maiden Voyage; the H2 Big Band's You're It, with trumpeter-fluegelhornist Bobby Shew as featured guest; and Jimmy Owens' The Monk Project, which further explores the music of Thelonious Monk.
