Sunday Nights at 9:00 pm to Midnight
Only On The Radio Stations of MPBN

Jazz has long been synonymous with the radio stations of the Maine Public Broadcasting Network, and the tradition continues every Sunday night with host Rich Tozier. Music from the legends, the up-and-comers and even the occasional live in-studio performance are all featured for three hours every Sunday beginning at 9:00 pm.

A CD from trombonist Steve Turre is always a cause for celebration. Recently we featured his brilliant and underrated late '90s self-titled Verve date. This program focuses on his latest, the very straight-ahead Spiritman. The emphasis is on his trombone playing, although one track showcases his skills on the conch shells.
