MPBN puts Public Radio in the palm of your hand!
MPBN teamed up with NPR to create MPBN Mobile News Web allowing FREE access to MPBN and NPR news content via your phone's mobile web browser.
Now you can get local newscasts and stories from MPBN, hourly news summaries from NPR, story of the day, the most e-mailed stories and much more.
All you need is a phone or PDA with a mobile web browser and a subscription to a data plan through your carrier.
The cost is FREE to use. MPBN does not charge for this service. Data usage charges depend on the calling/data plan you have with your carrier, and listening to audio via click-to-call links uses voice/calling plan minutes. Any SMS/text charges are at your standard text messaging rate.
To access the MPBN Mobile News site, enter http://mpbn.mobi into the browser.
Or, click Send this mobile web address to my phone, and type in your mobile phone number and a text message with the address will be sent to you.
If you don't have Web browsing capabilities on your phone you can access MPBN Mobile News Voice which allows FREE access to MPBN and NPR news content via ANY type of telephone.
Any device that can make phone calls (including land line phones) will work for this service. MPBN does not charge for this service either, it's FREE. However, depending on your contract with your phone carrier, minutes used will count against your monthly voice/calling allotment.
