"Maine Live" made its first-ever appearance in Boothbay Harbor on Saturday, August 8, 2009 to webcast a concert by New England native son Livingston Taylor, live at the Boothbay Opera House. Just like his appearance last summer in this same venue, Taylor's performance was sold out.

Now a professor at Berklee College of Music in his native Massachusetts, Livingston Taylor has over a dozen albums to his credit (and a new one due out this fall) and is no stranger to performing in Maine, having played here dozens of times. After one recent appearance here, the Rockland Courier-Gazette wrote that Taylor "has a subtle way of working a crowd and the obvious gift of pleasing one.”
Taylor even invited one of his students at Berklee, a young woman named Liz Longley, to join him onstage for part of the second set, where the two played a couple of Longley's original compositions.
