The Moth Radio Hour
Saturday, November 21 at Noon

The Moth Radio Hour features true stories told live on stage without scripts. MPBN Radio is giving this program a five-week trial run as the producers are only offering the five programs. Whad’Ya Know? will return in December.

In this hour, hear how celebrated author and writer Adam Gopnik (Paris to the Moon, The New Yorker) embarrasses his son and offends other loved ones by getting lost in the new world of instant message abbreviations. Also, the story of a first kiss and beyond from a handicapped woman; a pair of unlikely pen pals; and the sad tale of a gay man who comes out to his parents with dramatic consequences. The Moth's Executive and Creative Director, Lea Thau, hosts.

Note: some stories are emotionally intense and not for children.

Stories by:

  • Jeffery Rudell -- the consequences of coming out
  • Adam Gopnik -- learning the hidden meaning of instant messages
  • Janice Bartley -- handicapped love
  • Boris Timanovsky -- pen pal problems
