Life is Better with MPBN 2012 Official Contest Rules

Eligibility

This contest is open to all legal residents of the United States 18 years of age or older, except: (a) residents of Rhode Island, New York and Florida (unless residents of these excluded states also have a valid Maine residential address); and (b) officers, directors, trustees and employees of (i) MPBN, (ii) PBS, (iii) NPR, (iv) PBS and NPR member stations, and (v) corporate underwriters of MPBN, and members of their respective households and immediate family members. Compliance with the eligibility requirements will be determined solely by MPBN. All Federal, State and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

Contest Period

This contest will begin at 12:00 am Eastern Time on May 1, 2012, and end at 8:30 pm Eastern Time on June 30, 2012.

Entries

All eligible persons who make a contribution to MPBN during the contest period described above will be automatically entered in the contest. Entries are limited to one per person. Making a contribution to MPBN will not improve an individual’s chance of winning.

No Contribution or Purchase Necessary

There is no contribution or purchase required to enter this contest. To enter the contest without making a contribution to MPBN, please send one postcard with name, address, telephone number, and valid e-mail address to:

Postcard entries must be received by MPBN on or before the contest end date. Or you may complete an entry form at any Lee Auto Malls location in the State of Maine on or before the contest end date. Limit of one entry per person. MPBN is not responsible for lost, late, delayed, or illegible entries or requests for entries. By entering, entrant agrees to be bound by the contest rules.

Determination of Winners and Awarding of Prizes

Winners will be chosen via random drawing within approximately thirty (30) days after the contest end date. Winners need not be present at the drawing to win. Winners will be notified by letter, telephone and/or e-mail. Grand Prize winner must appear at a date, time and location in the State of Maine specified by MPBN in order to claim and receive the Grand Prize. Other prizes will be shipped to winners. Each winner must present proper proof of age, identity and Social Security Number, and complete an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability, and receipt in order to claim a prize. If for any reason MPBN is unable to contact a prize winner, a winner fails to appear to claim the prize (Grand Prize winner only), or a winner is determined by MPBN to be ineligible, that prize will be deemed forfeited, an alternate winner will be drawn, and the prize will be awarded to the alternate winner.

Prizes

Each prize is accepted or denied by the prize winner and is guaranteed to be awarded except if forfeited by a prize winner or in the possibility that MPBN ceases production, or for some other reason is unable to fulfill the prize after a diligent effort is made. In such circumstances MPBN assumes no responsibility (monetary or otherwise) to fulfill the prize. Prizes are not redeemable for cash, exchangeable, or transferable. No substitutions for prizes will be made except as may be necessary due to unavailability (in which case a prize of equal value will be awarded). All taxes on prizes, including but not limited to Federal, State and local income taxes, are the responsibility of the winners.

Estimated Value of Prizes

A total of 5 prizes will be awarded:
One (1) 2012 Toyota Prius C: estimated retail value $19,900
Four (4) Apple®iPad®3 tablets: estimated retail value $499 each

Additional Conditions on Receipt of Prizes

At the time of delivery of the Toyota Prius, the Grand Prize winner must show proof he/she, or a person who is present and designated by the Grand Prize winner to drive the vehicle on his/her behalf, holds a valid driver's license in the state in which he/she resides, and has obtained satisfactory insurance at his/her expense for the vehicle. Color, options package, accessories, and other specifics of the Toyota Prius will be at the designated Toyota dealer’s discretion. Manufacturer’s warranty applies to the Toyota Prius. The winner will be responsible for any additional expenses including but not limited to insurance, sales taxes, excise taxes and registration of the vehicle and the operating, repair, and maintenance costs of the vehicle including but not limited to fuel, oil changes, and other regular maintenance of the vehicle.

Odds of Winning

Odds of winning are determined by the total number of entries received and cannot be projected. Only one prize will be awarded to any one winner.

Releases

MPBN may use each winner’s name, address, and likeness without compensation in advertising or otherwise, and is released from any and all liability arising out of anyone’s
participation in this contest, including the preparation and release of any information relating to any person’s participation in the contest, and all matters relating to any person’s acceptance and use of any prize.

By participating in the contest, each entrant agrees to release and hold MPBN and its trustees, employees and agents, and all prize suppliers harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the contest, or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage.
