A New Englander by birth, Dahlov Ipcar was introduced to Maine by her parents, artists William and Marguerite Zorach, who started summering at Robinhood Cove in Georgetown in 1923. The next film in the Maine Masters Project is featured on MPBN Community Films.

Ipcar, whose first solo show took place at the Museum of Modern Art when she was 21, has gained wide recognition through her marvelous paintings and murals of jungle and farm animals, her pioneering work in soft sculpture and the many children’s books she has illustrated.

This film is one in an ongoing series of the Maine Masters Project.
