Portland Head Light and the Lighthouses of Maine's Casco Bay
June 29, 2013
A photograph of Halfway Rock Light in Harpswell

This MPBN Community Films piece is about the unsung heroism of the Lighthouse Keepers and their courage and sacrifices to keep the lights burning. These sentinels mark the waters of southern Maine’s Casco Bay.

Portland Head Light and the Lighthouses of Maine's Casco Bay looks at Portland Head Light, the first and the oldest of all Maine's lighthouses. It is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in America located in Casco Bay at the entrance of Portland Harbor. Seven lighthouses (Portland Breakwater, Spring Point Ledge, Ram Island Ledge, Halfway Rock, Portland Head, Cape Elizabeth East and Cape Elizabeth West) and one lightship once marked the waters of Casco Bay and Portland Harbor.

Portland Head Light and the Lighthouses of Maine's Casco Bay is produced by Vince Salvatore of Lighthouse Productions Films & Entertainment.
