Celebrating it’s bicentennial Houlton Maine looks back at 200 years of unprecedented history from 1807-2007, The Story of Houlton was completed in 2007. This documentary brings this unique and unparalleled story together with reenactments, historical photos and rare footage of the shear will power and determination it took to establish Houlton. See how the great fire almost destroyed the town but instead created new life with amazing and intricate brick built building that stand today in Houlton’s market square.
The documentary was a 10-year labor of love for the Houlton Historical society with over 25 researchers, historians, writers and production members working together to bring the final production to completion.
The documentary contains an fantastic historical collection of Houlton’s history in print and artifacts from Houlton’s history museum including never seen before vintage footage of the sesquicentennial week long celebration in 1957.
