Winter Farming
February 17, 2011
Maine cows in a field in winter

Maine people spend $4 billion per year on food, most of which goes directly out of state (it's the second largest consumer expense in Maine behind energy spending). One group is pushing to keep more food dollars local and winter farming is the key.

Guests this week include: Eliot Coleman of Harborside, Lisa and Ralph Turner of Laughing Stock Farm in Freeport, Paul Lorrain of Sunset Farm Organics in Lyman and Russell Libby from the Maine Organic Farmers and Growers Association. Plus, visit the Brunswick Winter Farmers Market.
