Jennifer sat down for an interview with Ryan Low, Maine Finance Commissioner.  Jennifer asks him about the stimulus money coming in to the state: how much, where it's going, who oversees it.  We'll also get an update on the state revenue shortfall from him.

The second segment is an interview with the new director of the Portland Museum of Art, Mark Bessire. He is a rising star in the Maine art world - former head of the ICA at MECA and the Bates College Museum of Art. He's considered  to be an innovator so we'll focus on the role of an art museum in the 21st century and his vision for the PMA.

Both of Maine's U.S. Representatives, Congressman Mike Michaud (D) and Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D), sit down with Jennifer Rooks to discuss the monumental legislation passed by Congress this year. Also, the President's budget, Maine's opportunities under the stimulus package. And we'll attempt to learn the difference between Blue Dogs and Green Dogs.

Senator Snowe talks about her role in passing the "economic recovery" package and her opposition to the President's proposed budget. Also, cyber-security and bipartisanship.  And, on the subject of health care reform - we sit in on one of the Senator's Maine "listening sessions" and hear what some of the stakeholders on this issue are telling her.

Scientists are learning more and more about the effects of light pollution on people and wildlife.  Now a growing movement aims to help preserve night darkness through legislation.  We'll look at how the Dark Skies movement might affect Maine. Martha Sheils of the International Dark-Sky Association and Robert Burgess, one of Maine’s NASA ambassadors, discuss this growing concern.  Also, it's been 100 years since explorer Robert E. Peary's historic trip to the North Pole. His alma mater, Bowdoin College, celebrates with a new exhibit at the Peary-Macmillan Artic Museum.  Genevieve LeMoine, curator  of the exhibit gives us a tour.

This week on Maine Watch, it's a daunting prospect for many students and their parents, especially now - how to pay for college.  Maine college graduates have one of the highest student debt loads in the nation, and there are many grads with horror stories about trying to pay back their loans.  We'll look at the reasons and ask for advice. Also, Maine's history through the lens of the postcard photo.

In many parts of the state health care workers are in short supply. Hospitals and other facilities can't attract the doctors, nurses and technicians they need, and experts worry that the problem is just going to get worse.  We'll look at the root of this issue and what's being done to fix it.

Reaction to the Governor's State of the State address looks at the budget priorities of the legislature and the governor's office. Also, how will the stimulus package help Maine? State senators Bill Diamond and Richard Rosen, co-chairs of the state appropriations committee, discuss the issue.
