In a thick fog in failing light, the fishing vessel edges past the buoy in the upper left corner or this appealing scene. The hull of the vessel and its rigging loom dark in the stillness and are reflected in the cool lilac, blue and cream tones of the water. The boundary between water and sky is as obscure as the details of the boat. The satin finish black wood frame is 38inches square. Artist N. Scott Connell has exhibited his painting in galleries throughout Maine and has been invited to participate in juried exhibitions at major venues including the round Top Center for the Arts.
