| This wonderful work in wood, marquetry and carving is titled 'The Tree'. A larger than life acorn is carved from red oak, and stands atop offset leaves on a surface patterned in diamond shapes. The leaves and plaque are executed in English brown oak, wenge and sand-shaded maple. This striking tribute to the trees of Maine is 22 ½ inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. Jim Macdonald and Mark Roman collaborated to produce this piece. Works by Marquetry artist Macdonald have been featured in museum shows and major crafts exhibitions throughout the Eastern United States, and have been featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine.
