The light is soft and luminous in this fine oil on canvas by Bristol artist Kathleen Galligan, titled 'Winter Field in Bristol'. The leafless trees glow in the sunlight, and the underbrush in red and brown with accents of green are warm above the snow-blanketed field. The house reflects the setting sun and invites us to linger a bit longer under the tranquil blue sky. This work is presented in a sand colored floating wood frame measuring 14 inches square and 3 inches deep. Artist Galligan is represented by Greenhut Gallery of Portland. Her work has been included in the collections of the Farnsworth Art Museum, Bates College Museum and major corporate collections throughout the Northeast.
