| This fine oil painting on linen entitled "Departure" by Sandra Stanton of Farmington merges the natural and the spiritual world. It is from a new series which explores the relationship between nature and humans. The bronzed female with long brown braid looks beyond the painting and perhaps beyond the horizon. Her blue dress and her skin reflect the sun and seem in harmony with the blue sea and sky. The soaring gull and the rocks emerging from the water are all aligned with her gaze and, it feels, with her spirit. This painting is set within a gray blue shadow box frame of 11x13". Artist Stanton has been recognized by numerous solo exhibitions in private and university galleries in Europe and throughout the northeast United States.
