Dimensions: 30 " x 30"
Description:
The past comes alive in this wonderful work by artist Petrea Noyes of Brooks titled
‘Kodak: Feathers & Furs’. Photographs from a 1917 photo album given the artist by her grandmother are altered, cropped, colored and manipulated by computer and printed on Piezomat canvas with ultrachrome K3 pigments coated with soluvar varnishes. The three flamboyantly attired women are obviously enjoying themselves as much as we enjoy them, complete with feathered boas and hats, out on the town for a festive day. The image is framed by the borders of the Kodak safety film, and it is gallery wrapped, eliminating the need for a frame. It measures a generous 30 inches square. Artist Noyes has won awards in national and regional exhibits, and has displayed her work in the Hartford and Stamford Museums.
