Description:
Artist and educator Nicole Woodford has created this visually stunning abstract acrylic and tempera on paper. Simplicity and fluidity of form combine into sinuous, curving shapes, punctuated by red and black orbs at the apex and base. The carefully applied pigment is both bold and fragile. This work is matted in ivory with an inner field of contrasting black, under glass within a satin black wood frame of 26 by 31 inches. Works by the artist are currently at the Saatchi Gallery in London, and have recently appeared in solo and group shows at academic and private galleries in Europe and North America. She is represented by Safaris Gallery and Agora Gallery of New York.
