'Rags' Framed Intaglio Etching

Description:

The gray and black colors and forms of this abstract intaglio etching, titled “Rags”, are organic and full of texture. The images are very finely detailed, with the weave of the cloth and twisting strands of thread floating across the open spaces like magic carpets in the sky. The layout in two panes evokes windows framing the universe. This work is matted in white under glass in a silver satin finished metal frame of 20 by 26 inches.  Artist Renate Caraballo has exhibited her work widely in galleries and public spaces throughout Maine. She was invited to participate in the 2006 Biennial Juried Exhibition at the Maine Center for Contemporary Art.
