Location:  Nobleboro

Value:   $1000

Media: Acrylic on Panel

Dimensions: 27 x 35"

Description:

'Fireweed-South Lubec' is the title of this dynamic acrylic painting on panel by artist William Hallett of Nobleboro. Color washes over the landscape, as the sun illuminates the stand of trees with golden highlights and colors the grass a creamy yellow. The white clouds and blue water stretch to the distant dark blue hills, but our vision is gripped by the subject flowers. In a lively lattice of white and red, the fireweed shimmers in the light, trumpeting its energy and dominance of the landscape. This work is mounted in a sand colored linen liner within a gold washed wood frame of 27 by 35 inches. Painter Hallett creates visions of the Maine land and seascapes as well as paintings of Maine towns and villages.
