This quilted collage is the work of Natasha Kempers-Cullen of Topsham, an artist with a long history of teaching and exhibiting in Maine in addition to a wider career in the national community of quilt makers.  This work, measuring 25  x  25,”   is one of a series she calls “Shrines.”  Titled “Moonglow,” this composition is exuberant and symetrical with many symbolic references to the beauty of nighttime and the ancient connection between women and the moon.  Full of color and woven-in metallic threads, this work is a jewel with a rich palette and intricate workmanship.  Very much in the tradition of fine quilt making, this small work is an inspiration and an heirloom.
