Description:

There are lessons to be learned about Maine in this oil and acrylic on canvas. The bold rocks cascade to the shore, and would seem inhospitable to life. However, bold purple flowers, grasses and ferns flourish in the scant soil between the boulders, and in the rear strong evergreen defy the coastal winds. The pink and orange horizon overlooks the sea, which splinters into foam as it crashes on the rocks.  This work is in an ivory matte with black liner, and measures 21 by 25 inches in its black frame.
