Dailey Wood Working

Maple Burl Hollow Vessel

Dailey Wood Working

Donated by: Dailey Wood Working

Location:  Carthage

Value:   $350

Description:

The maple burl wood from which this hollow vessel is crafted is so beautifully finished it seems to glow with a soft interior light. From the African blackwood finial, turned to a stiletto point, to the robust oval vessel, this work is graceful and elegant. It is finished with polymerized tung oil and buffed with carnuba wax, and stands 7 inches high by 5 ½ inches wide. Carver Dailey creates a full range of turned objects from salt and pepper mills to salad bowls to hollow lidded vessels.
