Description:

There is an organic simplicity in this lovely fiber work created from hand-spun strips of Japanese hand-made paper, leather cord and waxed linen thread.  Tones of green suggest plant forms reaching for the sun, rising from the closely woven base in earth tones of dark and light brown. This fine piece is 8 inches long, 7 inches wide and 5 inches high. Artist Thorp has received awards for her creations, which have been widely exhibited in juried shows throughout the United States.
