Buttermilk Cove Studio

'Swapping News' Framed Watercolor

Donated by: Buttermilk Cove Studio

Location: Brunswick

Value:   $900

Media: Watercolor

Dimensions: 26 x 32 "

Description:

This spirited watercolor brings us to the side of a lobster boat at the end of a long day. With the golden sunset washing across the sky, three lobstermen swap stories of their work and their lives. The blue hull echoes the blue slickers of the fishermen, while the lobster traps refract the yellow and pink tones of the day and the blue of the dock, dory and vessel. This work is matted in white under glass in a gold-washed wood frame of 26 by 32 inches. Artist Rayfield paints Maine scapes in oils, pastel and watercolor. Her works have been widely exhibited and are in numerous private collections.
