Description:

This wonderful assemblage by Maine artist John Bisignano brings the Maine coast to life and is titled ‘Images Down East’.  In tones of gray, brown, sand and sepia this highly textured mixed media collage depicts three images of docks, dories and fishing shacks and their owners’ houses hard by the water.  A beach rock and wonderful copper fish with orange eye and triangular cut-out scales and fins float across the wooden background.  This work is framed in light natural wood and measures 23 by 29 inches.  The artist’s studies included the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and the famed Art Student’s League in New York City. His works are in numerous corporate and private collections and can be seen at the Huston Tuttle Gallery in Rockland.
