Description:

This wonderful collage in mixed media on wood by Maine artist John Bisignano is titled ‘Coming and Going’.   The fish not only head in two different directions, but are of differing compositions.  The upper swimmer is of welded metal and painted panels in a rainbow of colors including orange, purple, blue, green, brown, red and yellow.  His companion, with similar structure and colors, is directly painted on the white board surface, with a subtle shadow that creates a three dimensional effect that fools the eye.  This whimsical work is double framed in gold and walnut and measures 26 by 27 inches.  The artist has studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and at the famed Art Students League in New York City. His works are in numerous corporate and private collections and may be seen at the Huston Tuttle Gallery in Rockland.
