Description:

This dazzling watercolor by Jill Hoy of Stonington is entitled “Autumn on Penobscot Bay.”  The vibrant blue sky is splashed with pink, golden yellow and lilac.  The blue water reflects the colorful sky, and in the foreground fall colors of orange and gold spread over the coastal grasses.  The islands in the distance are in shades of blue, while those in the foreground wear costumes of  evergreens. This work is in an acid free white mat under glass in a white wash natural wood frame created by The Framemakers of Waterville and measuring 26 by 31 inches. Works by artist Hoy have been in juried group and solo exhibits in galleries throughout the United States, and are in collections such as the Harvard Business School, Fidelity Investments and the Boston Public Library.  Her work is in More Paintings of Maine by Karl Little and was featured in an article in Down East Magazine in September, 2005.
