The major coral reefs of the world are a long way from the lobsters, fish and other marine life that teems off the coast of Maine. But there is a connection, according to a University of Maine scientist. Robert Steneck is one of several authors of a new study published last week in the journal "Science".

Changes in climate seem to be affecting fish populations in the gulf of Maine, according to a new report published this week in the journal Science. Andrew Pershing, an oceanographer with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and the University of Maine co-authored the study.
