Is the Greater Portland economic engine not getting the respect it deserves? A new study shows that the region now accounts for 40% of the state’s economy. With that much clout, should Maine be more concerned about the health of this growing giant?

This week we’ll talk about the report called “Looking Out for Portland and the Region” and what it might mean for the state with guests: Mark McAuliffe, President of the Portland Community Chamber; Representative Nancy Smith (D) Monmouth; and Laurie LaChance, president and CEO of the Maine Development Foundation. Plus, excerpts from a recent MaineBiz symposium on how pessimism can influence our business environment and a look at a new Dahlov Ipcar exhibit.
