Heidi Perkins, editor
I've done day care, retail, boat carpentry, house carpentry, and ambulance driving, but by far my longest and most favorite career is documentary film editing.
Documentary film editing is like taking an intense crash course in the subject du jour. I tell people I've been around the world, but have never left the building. I'm a story teller.
I have been in the editing room since 1988. I have worked on shows for NOVA, American Experience, and National Geographic's Explorer series. I have worked for National Geographic, Discovery, and about a dozen independent film companies. I came to the Maine Public Broadcasting Network in 2001 to be series editor on QUEST.
I moved to Maine in 1982. Six years later bought a circa 1832 farmhouse. I live with my partner, 3 cats, 3 dogs, and a ghost.
