Rick Van de Poll
Dr. Rick Van de Poll's company, Ecosystem Management Consultants
(EMC) of Sandwich, New Hampshire, has performed natural resource
inventories for the
public and private sector of New England since 1988. With an emphasis on biodiversity
conservation, EMC has provided inventories and assessments on a wide range of
properties for local and state land trusts, state and federal agencies, municipalities,
and private individuals.
Van de Poll received his Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management
from the Union Institute in 1996. His Masters degree was
completed both at San Francisco State
University and at Antioch New England Graduate School between 1984 and 1986.
His dual major was in Mycology and Environmental Communications.
He served
on the faculty at Antioch New England from 1985 to 2001,
and continues to teach seminars and workshops for the general
public in a variety of natural
science fields. He is the Board President for the Northeast Wilderness Trust,
is currently a wetland scientist representative on the NH Joint Board of
Natural Scientists, and has founded two regional mushroom
clubs in the state.
Current projects include the creation
and design of summer field institute for New Hampshire
science teachers through Plymouth State University, and
a 2-year
bio-inventory of the 5600-acre Castle-in-the-Clouds property for the Lakes
Region Conservation Trust. |
