Web Extra: Photos from the May 10, 2006 Live at Eleven
performance by winners of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra's
2006 High School Concerto Competition

On Wednesday, May 10, 2006, MPBN Music Director and "Live at Eleven" host Elena See welcomed three of Maine's most talented young musicians to MPBN's Bangor studio: Lydia Kilian (piano) of Weeks Mills, Benjamin Tibbetts of Windsor (piano) and Tyler Yentes of Monroe (violin). The three high school juniors placed first, second and third, respectively, in the 25th Annual Bangor Symphony Orchestra Maine High School Concerto Competition, which took place March 18, 2006. The BSO competition was established in 1982 as a vehicle to recognize and encourage outstanding young Maine musicians.

On this page we've compiled a gallery of photographs of the performance taken by MPBN staff photographer Keary Nichols to give our radio listeners a visual perspective on what goes into a "Live at Eleven" broadcast. Click on any photo below to view a larger version. Special thanks go to Lydia Kilian, Benjamin Tibbets and Tyler Yentes for appearing on "Live at Eleven" and to the thousands of radio listeners who tuned in. Enjoy!
