Traffic Jam is "Car-Cophony"
There was a traffic jam in Farmington, Maine last night, but it was intentional. In fact it was more of a "traffic jam session," as UMaine Farmington Music professor Philip Carlsen brought together more than 50 cars, and some 60 people, in a performance of his original composition for horns, door slams, radios and warning bells called "Car Afterlife."
Billed as a "contrapuntally sublime car-cophony," the piece was arranged for four "choirs" of autos. Keith Shortall has more.
