MPBN Announces State of the State 2013 Coverage – 1st Time Ever in HD

 The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is announcing that it will again provide full and detailed coverage of Governor Paul LePage’s State of the State address on Tuesday, February 5th beginning at 7:00 pm. Coverage will be state-wide on MPBN Radio, MPBN Television including on MPBN’s Maine Capitol Connection channel, and streamed LIVE on MPBN.Net. This will be the first time the State of the State is presented in High Definition.

MPBN and USDA Rural Development Unveil Plans for $750,000 Grant Award

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network and the USDA Rural Development will share plans for critical upgrades to infrastructure which is being funded by a USDA Rural Development grant of $750,000. This "open house" event will take place at the Maine Public Broadcasting Network Studios at 63 Texas Avenue, Bangor on Tuesday, January 29th at 10 a.m.

MPBN to Air “The Rivals” As Part of MPBN Community Films

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is announcing that it will air the film ―The Rivals‖ on special loan from the Smithsonian as part of the MPBN Community Films series. The film was produced by Lone Wolf Documentary Group of Maine, and it will be featured on MBPN Television Monday, January 21st at 9 PM, Thursday, January 24th at 10 PM, Saturday, January 26th at 11 AM, and Sunday, January 27th at 3 PM and 11 PM.

MPBN Announces an MPBN Downton Abbey Football Conflict Support Line

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is announcing the creation of a resource line formed for households in conflict Sunday, January 20 between watching the end of the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens game and the airing of Episode 3 of Season 3 of Downton Abbey. The automated line – 207-330-4549 – will direct callers to alternate viewing times of the show.

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is pleased to join PBS and WGBH and announce that the premiere of MASTERPIECE CLASSIC "Downton Abbey, Season 3" captivated viewers in Maine and nationwide with an estimated audience of 7.9 million viewers tuned in for Sunday‘s premiere. (Nielsen Fast National data, 5.1 household rating.) The third season premiere of the Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award-winning series quadrupled the average PBS primetime rating, and exceeded the average rating of the second season premiere of "Downton Abbey" by 96 percent (based on metered market averages).
