A 20-year-old Maine woman who attends college in Boston is recovering from injuries she sustained in Monday's bomb explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ Sarah Girouard is a student at Northeastern University and a 2010 graduate of Falmouth High School. Her aunt told the Portland Press Herald that Girouard is in good condition after undergoing surgery for injuries to her lower extremities.

WCSH-TV reported that Maine native Karen Engelhardt Rand was also injured in the explosions that killed three people and injured more than 170. Rand is originally from Portland and now lives near Boston.

Former Mainer Michelle L'Heureux was also among the injured ranks, requiring surgery. The Sun Journal reports that L'Heureux grew up in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1993.
