LifeFlight Helicopter Made Emergency Landing
04/17/2013 12:00 PM ET

LifeFlight officials are trying to determine the cause of a mechanical failure that forced a medical helicopter crew to make an emergency landing in Cumberland.

CUMBERLAND, Maine (AP) _ No one was injured when the helicopter landed hard in a field off Winn Road Tuesday afternoon. Officials say one of the chopper's two engines lost oil pressure as the crew was returning to Lewiston after transporting a patient to a hospital.

A pilot and two crew members were aboard.

LifeFlight officials say the crew landed the helicopter as a precaution and are well-trained for such emergencies. The aircraft wasn't damaged.

Mechanics are trying to determine why the engine lost oil pressure.
