The former Florida governor headlined the event Tuesday evening for Republican Gov. Paul LePage's re-election campaign.

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (AP) _ Last month, Maine Gov. Paul LePage surprised some observers by saying he might run for Congress. But he's confirmed at a fundraiser that he's committed to seeking re-election.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush headlined the event Tuesday evening for Republican Gov. Paul LePage's re-election campaign. The fundraiser was held at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, where Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush, has a seaside retreat.

State Sen. Andre Cushing told news reporters that LePage told supporters he intends to seek a second term.

A private session and photo opportunity cost $2,000 per person or $3,000 per couple. General admission was $150. LePage will report his fundraising totals to election officials later this month.
